Hello Reader!
Who's ready for a road trip? I know I am! Lucky for me, I'll be hittin' the road a week from Monday. A pair of my travel writing buddies are traveling with me to Kansas City, KS, for the Midwest Travel Network Annual Conference. (I'm a booth sponsor and will be speaking about self-publishing.)
Our plan is to take Route 66 out--yes, it's a bit of a detour--and the CKC back. Our husbands are all a little, ahem, concerned and have warned us they don't have bail money. (We'll be fine, honey. I promise. Fine. But keep your phone charged.)
It'll be my friends' first time driving either route. Fortunately, I've driven Route 66 multiple times, and drove CKC on our way to Colorado last year. I'm thrilled to be able to share this adventure with them.
Are you planning any summer road trips?
To celebrate the season and to help you on your way, I've drastically updated my road trip planning guide. I've written a lot more road trip stuff in the last year, plus a whole book on Planning Your Perfect Road Trip, and this round-up is completely updated. You'll find 24 articles about planning, finding destinations, saving money, and how not to kill your partner. I've also got ideas for where to go, like the Pacific Coast, the Great River Road, and the most beautiful drive in America. And believe me, I've got more coming!
You can find all of them here.
I sincerely hope they help you plan and enjoy a wonderful adventure you'll remember forever.
Until next week,
Love and wanderlust,
Theresa L. Goodrich
Oh - last week I mentioned I'd be writing about life, my fiction, and writing (so meta) on Substack. It's live! There's not much to it yet, but it's new. So new I haven't even set up an About page yet. If you want to check it out and subscribe, click here.

Hi Reader! Hoo boy. I am way overdue for an update. I didn't realize I hadn't updated you at all about Betrayed at the Beach. Whoops. Fortunately, I've got good news. The book's practically writing itself and I am having SO MUCH FUN. I think you're going to love this one, especially some new characters that I have a major crush on. (I've got an excerpt below, but don't skip to it just yet.) The official launch date is July 15. Yes, that's coming up fast, but that's the beauty of being an...
Hello Reader! And hello June! This is going to be one busy month. Tomorrow, Mr. TLT and I are heading to Galena, Illinois, for a quick overnight. Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, a.k.a. our happy place (or one of them), recently renovated their spa and we've been invited to check it out. Tough job, I know, but the timing's great because I ended up in urgent care last weekend due to a muscle spasm. Lemme tell you, THOSE are no fun. I'm ready for a massage, some farm-to-table dining, and a nice walk...
